Nutritional labeling of food and nutritional components testing services
In December 2007, the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China has published the nutritional information panel regulation, which will be effective on 1st May 2008. The purposes of this regulation are mainly to manage those prepackaged foods sold in China with nutritional information panels. PONY TEST provides Nutritional labeling of food and nutritional components testing services for the food enterprise.
Prepackaged foods: The food which is pre-packaged in fix quantity, or put/filled into certain container, and be provided directly to the consumers. Most wrapped food being sold in the market belong to pre-packaged foods now.
Core nutrients: in the process of management for food nutritional labeling, the core nutrients will be divided into 2 kinds: compulsory marked nutrients and optional marked nutrients. In order to emphasize the importance of the marked nutrients, we named them as core nutrients. Generally speaking, the core nutrients need to be the nutrients which have public health significance for the country. For example, there are 15 kinds in the United States, 6 kinds in Australia, four kinds in China. They are protein, fat, carbohydrates and sodium.
